As a creative professional, I find it is essential that I never stop trying to develop and expand my skill set as a photographer and for that is the motivation behind this portrait session. I really wanted to practice some different posing techniques and learn from someone who I deeply respect as an artist. R.J. Kern is a brilliant wedding photographer and great teacher and I got together with him to work on posing the other night. Check out R.J.’s website at http://www.kern-photo.com/. My friend’s Liz and Matt tagged along to be the models for the session and it worked out great because they are such a naturally loving couple and it’s easy to see it in photographs. We met at the Downtown Denver REI and had a great time playing around with different things in the surrounding area. I treated this like I would an engagement portrait session because it had the same feel to it. R.J. helped me develop the poses and showed me some of the ways he likes to go about setting up his shots. We got some awesome images and I’m excited to share them. 🙂
