Keystone Wedding Photography: Chris and Dave

I am finally getting around to posting the other wedding I photographed with Charlotte during my back to back weekend in Keystone.  I've been pretty busy with moving to a new house so this post fell to the side a bit.  I'm so excited to share this wedding because it was another beautiful event at Timber Ridge on Keystone Mountain and the bride and groom were wonderful to work with.  This was a destination wedding for everyone and Chris and Dave came all the way from their current residence in France!  Chris is originally from Colorado and wanted to get married in her beloved Rocky Mountains.  She was so easy going and a joy to be around all day.  It was easy to see why Dave looked like he was wondering how he got so lucky to be marrying Chris. As is typical with most Colorado mountain weddings, there was an afternoon storm that delayed the loading of the gondolas that would take the wedding party and guests to the venue.  Fortunately, they only had the gondola shut down for about a half hour.Chris was so cool about the delay and was smiling the entire time saying, "This is my Colorado and I love it!"The ceremony and reception took place at Timber Ridge on top of Keystone Mountain. I love it when wedding favors have a more personal touch to them and Chris and Dave shared a batch of Chris's grandmother's hot chocolate mix with all the guests. I won't try to hide the fact that photographing children can be met with resistance sometimes.Chris was such a beautiful bride and her veil and hat were great compliments to her dress. To me, this really evokes the magic memory I strive to create at every wedding.I feel like this photograph captures Chris's personality perfectly. There was a slowdown in the ceremony and Chris just stood there happy as can be without a care.During the formal photographs, this little girl aimlessly walked right in front of the group and had no idea that people were behind her. Congratulations to you both!

Keystone Wedding Photography: Kasey and Dave

This past weekend I photographed two destination mountain weddings with Charlotte on Keystone mountain.  Working back to back weddings at 11,444 ft is quite physically demanding but I tried to feed off the energy of the couple and their guests and captured some great moments.  Kasey and Dave live in Denver and decided to have their ceremony and reception at the Timber Ridge lodge on top of Keystone ski resort.  It took two gondola rides to get up to the venue and we were treated with great views on the way.  Dave was so fun to photograph because he kept making Kasey laugh and brought out her gorgeous expressions.

I hiked up one of the trails in the dark to get this twilight shot of the venue.

There was an afternoon thunderstorm that delayed the arrival of guests but the sky cleared just in time for a beautiful wedding ceremony.

Kasey had such a great smile!

I saw Kasey waving ferociously at someone behind me so I spun around to find out who it was.

The mountains of Summit County provide a great backdrop.

I love the expression on Dave's face as an unknown dog with a bow around its neck wandered into the bride and groom portrait session.bride and groom hugging at wedding on keystone mountain showing middle of bodiesKeyston wedding Maid of Honor toast

Kasey's sister and Maid of Honor was in tears for most of her toast to the bride and groom.

I really like the little touches like these bride and groom champagne glasses.

The father-daughter first dance always brings a lot of emotion out as dad realizes his little girl is all grown up.

Congratulations to Kasey and Dave! I wish you all the best in your lives together!
